Somalia Interventions
Somalia Interventions is a solitaire system war game set in the Middle East.

Since its collapse under the effects of famine in 1990, Somalia has rarely known peace
or been free of outside interference. The UN’s humanitarian mission metamorphosed to a peacekeeping operation under the weight of “bandit” attacks. These operations then
escalated in some areas into open warfare although rarely on the scale presented in the
movie Blackhawk Down.
In more recent years Somalia has divided into 3 sub-nations. While Somaliland and
Puntland have achieved some measure of stability the regional nations still struggle to
bring some measure of stability to more than half the country.
Somalia is a high level simulation of several key periods in the recent history of Somalia. The main rulebook includes scenarios covering the UN intervention, the rise of the ICU
and the civil war that follows on from there. A separate booklet contains a modified
rule set to play out the hypothetical War on Terror intervention.
